ADHD Parent Workshop

ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is one of the most common behavioural disorders of childhood. It usually causes difficulties with a child or youth's functioning at school, at home, in extra-curricular activities, and when interacting with friends.

Curious to learn more? Join us as Dr Candice Murray and Dr. Daphné Dokis, registered psychologists with the Provincial ADHD Program, share:

  • What is ADHD?

  • How does ADHD impact learning?

  • School strategies for ADHD, and

  • Advocating for children with ADHD

DPAC Trustee Candidate Forum

This is the chance for parents and guardians of VSB students to hear and question the candidates running for Vancouver School Board in the October 20th Municipal Election. Reporter Tracy Sherlock will be moderating.

All 33 trustee candidates have been invited to attend and sent a questionnaire to complete prior to this event (responses will be posted on our website).

This event is open to all parents and caregivers of VSB students and free of charge. Seating is limited and will be filled on a first-come-first-serve basis.

419 East 24th Ave. (Accessible parking and entrance via the school parking lot on East 23rd off Prince Edward.)

  • 6:00 - doors open

  • 6:30 - Welcome by Shaun Kalley, DPAC chair

  • 6:40 - Tracy Sherlock questions the candidates

  • ~8:00 - World cafe style section with candidates going from table to table answering parent/guardian questions

  • 9:00 - Forum over

  • 9:30 - doors locked

Upon arrival at the Education Centre building, you must register your name and vehicle license plate number in the parking registry, located on the Ground floor, in the foyer next to the reception area. The registry is used for parking validation purposes.

Should you receive a parking violation ticket after attending your assigned Board or Committee meeting, please forward the ticket to the Secretary Treasurer’s office. Indicate the type of meeting (i.e. Board or Committee) and the date of the meeting on the ticket.
